Littlewoods Loophole

Hi

I recently opened a new Littlewoods account online and was given a credit of £900. i then went on Ebay to buy some promotional codes;

Existing customers
£20 off (Minimum spend over £20)
£15 off (Minimum spend over £15)
£10 off (Minimum spend over £10)
£10 off (Minimum spend over £30)

and other for new customers...

I ordered a top for £45 and used a £20 off code so I paid £25
after it arrived I didnt like it so returned it.. I then checked my balance and my credit was £920.. so they owed me £20..

So i did the same again and used a different promotional code as you can not use the same code more then once.

This time bought a top for £30 and used a code for £15.. so paid £15..
Dodnt like it and sent it back. checked my credit and no have £935

So thats £35 in credit..

This time i want a to a pair of trianers, Lacosse which are £59..
I have another code to have £10 discounted so brought the trainers down to
£49.. i'm already £35 in credit so really I have a pair of Lacosse trainers for £14... what a bargain.

Hope all this helps others.. the more codes you get the more you will save!

Sorry if this is in the wrong area, could you move to correct one if i'm wrong.

Happy saving!

Richie

Ps the codes i bought off ebay were Lxdirect ones.. cost me 99p.

Have you returned anything? Seems like you have and they have refunded the discount code aswell.. you could ring them and say that you are £11 in credut and they might send it to you by chq.. but they might catch on and take it away from you as its the dicount code.

I would buy something for £11 and this way its really free as you didnt use your own money or buy something else and use another discount code wyou havent used and get more discount!

    Hope this helps.

    Cheers

I would be careful if I were you. Littlewoods are clamping down on those who use codes not allocated to them. I (and quite a few on this board) have received a call from them asking why I'm using codes not allocated to me. They have then charged the full amount for the goods. (I only used 2 codes).

Doesn't a credit of £900 just mean thats how much stuff you are allowed to order at once - like a credit card spending limit, i.e. they don't give you £900 free.

So if the OP's credit limit is now up to £935, that doesn't mean she has gained any money in any way, just that her credit limit has increased. I don't imagine they would quibble too much anyway with credit limits anyway so what do you gain?!?!

If my post above is right, then buying something for £11 will NOT be free, it'll cost you £11 and will just mean your CREDIT LIMIT will go down to £200 until you pay the £11 off!

Buying something out of a "credit limit" is FAR from free!!!

I wasn't aware of this.. Thanks for letting me know. I havent had any phone calls as yet so hopefully got away with it!
I suppose if you only use two discount codes then you shouldnt get caught.

Am I the only one herre who thinks that you are talking about a credit limit and not actual cash.

I think its most unlikely that you can get any money from Littlewood as discount codes are off purchases (so you get them reduced) but does not then give you the money if you send the item back. If you think you are mounting up money to be refunded to you I think you will be mistaken and will come unstuck with this one as when you try to claim freebies or cash back they will catch on to you and close yoour account.

I might be misunderstanding what you mean here (sorry if I am) but be very careful in what you are doing.

    Hi Richie23

I only used two codes and got caught! I don't mind as I've saved a lot of money through MSE in various things and I guess I was being cheeky.

One of the codes I used was the £25 one that's been floating around. When the woman called me she said that it was only for those who had applied and received a Littlewoods credit card, so I didn't know what to say!:o

i disagree as the person only started with a £200 credit and now has £211.. so if i'm right if they buy something for £11 they would go back down to £200 and would now be able to close the account without owing anything. Its like having a credit card of £1000 limit and have a balance of £11cr..
