My PC keeps going boing boing - help!

Options
Can someone please help me by explaining why I keep getting these "boing boing" (is that how it is spelt?) noises on my PC. I can obviously turn the volumn down or off but that would defeat the object of having the speakers on.
Many thanks

it may be as simply as a warning notification (i had a similar thing turned out to be outlook when email arrived) check running program options for sound alerts etc

Thanks but mine is a boing; like someone hitting the bottom of an upturned bucket with a spring. I am wondering if it is an ad or pop up blocker as it not doing it whilst typing this post.

check sound settings in all your anti virus, firewall, and internet browser, and turn them off one at a time (or all of I suppose), until it stops.

    Take it off the trampoline.
  • Many thanks to all that responded to my request for help. Unfortunately I did not find the cause so I went back the control panel and adjusted the sound volume instead. It is obviously a warning or something similar for when I log onto the internet so I will have to put up with, albeit at a lower volume!
    Thanks again
