Redundancy amount, being diddled??

It is so easy to get fobbed off on the phone. If possible, ask your husband to go to the nearest jobseekers and if he gets no joy, ask to speak to a supervisor or manager. The longer he waits, the longer he will wait for payments.
Tell them that PILON IS CAPITAL and is classed as assets such as savings etc and WILL NOT affect contribution based JSA.
I know these places are horrible, but your husband is entitled to these benefits - he has paid into the system.
You also may be entitled to council tax or rent relief. Obviously I do not know your personal circumstances and that is you confidential business but your local CAB may be invaluable in informing you what you are entitled to based on your individual circumstances.
Also, ask you husband to contact his former workplace and ask if they are providing any outside advice on employment and benefits - lots of companies do, but usually the larger ones.0 -
Thankyou very very much
I have rang the JCP myself on OH's behalf as he is finding it all too much to deal with. He now has an interview with someone for the 1st december. The gentleman i spoke to said that they would backdate the claim to 1st Nov so i will keep fingers crossed that they do as they say!
We do currently get housing benefit, but no CT, i have contacted them and they state they cannot do anything until we have JSA in place, so have to call them after the interview on 1st Dec.
His former workplace have said they will help with new employment etc if we ask, which OH is not keen on doing as the MD is not someone he can approach.0 -
Just wanted to update and let you know that i was correct with my calculations! We have had an apology from former boss!!0

If your husband cannot get JSA because of payment in lieu of notice then get him to go to the doctors and signed off on sick - stress through being made redundant. He will get payment straight away.0
