Long Term disability benefit and Redundancy

I currently work for one of the high street banks that have just announced job losses. I have recently been placed onto my Banks LTD benenift and was wondering how this may effect me in the redundancy selection process.
I would prefer to take redundancy if i could but I'm concerned that me being on LTD will put me at a disadvantage.
Any help would be appreciated.
