dont see the big deal about paying for live

If you look on the net you can get it for £26! Not expensive and I never have lagging, which some PS3 users complain of

Xbox live, can be used via a router, a bridged connection via pc with net access and a wireless adapter, as mentioned above I paid £45 for my wireless apapter through amazon but sometimes people sell them cheaper on classifieds ie gumtree

Yes, PSN is free, but often laggy. The store layout is awful, there are less demos and you generally get what you pay for.

I had Xbox live for a year (i dont now because Im not much into playing online and my internet connection is too bad to support it now :() and never had any problems.

If they put the price up as is rumoured, however, it'll be a different story.

Also, I can't remember who said, but yeah, playing PS2 games online is free, but good luck finding any games with either active communities OR servers still running.

Would the dongle that came with my wireless router be ok instead of paying £60 for a poxy little adaptor which is basically the same as the dongle. It was designed for use with the router, and can be used on any PC/Laptop. So why on earth do we have to pay £60 for a device that already exists?
Not been in here for years. Life got hectic!

Get him an Elite, subscriptions can be found on the net from as little as £26 for 12 months (PS3 is free online)

You can have privacy settings on his account so he doesnt hear all the swearing and abuse that does go off on Live
  • Does anyone know if this would work with an Xbox360? I use 2 of them on separate PCs upstairs to connect to my Netgear wireless router and they work pretty well?

Currently £39 in Tesco. Bigger stores have them on display, or you can get it delivered to certain stores for free.
