    i will accept your apology!

  • I read the statement earlier M&S posted and all the brands will be price matched against the other big retailers. As for not having own brands dropped, I can't see many going.

So your comparing prepared joints in an order book with what your butcher says he can make? Or is it against standard cuts available on display?
If its customer order cuts then I have never heard of any quality butcher doing cheap versions of them. But maybe you found one.

you dont understand for sure. Get the book have a look. All their meat is way overpriced. Same as their hampers. They have books out for both.

Aren't they more expensive than other supermarkets? I don't buy a lot of branded products but would they charge more for e.g Marmite than other places?

I rarely shop at M&S these days but I've only ever used it to buy a few treats. Who would go there to do a main weekly shop?

I do most of my shopping at M&S or Waitrose and i don't earn megabucks - wish i did though! M&S is not that much more than Asda or Tesco, but the food is much better and you pay for what you get! Food should is not something i am willing to compromise on!

All hampers are overpriced, and you can spend £100+ on a Christmas turkey ordering online (http://www.kellyturkeys.co.uk/kellybronze-turkeys-chickens-products.aspx), and a similar amount on a side of smoked salmon. Ordering Christmas food is usually expensive.

Premium products cost more, what a surprise.
  • Our M & S have sold branded labels for a while (Walkers crisps, kelloggs cereal, etc etc). Yes they are more expensive than Mr T's, but I certainly spend less because I am just visiting one shop and not doing that "I'll just grab some chocolate/wine/pringles while I'm here:rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:
Light travels faster than sound - that's why you can see someone who looks bright until they open their mouth.
  • I will certainly use M&S more if I can buy my brands there. They have recently become realy aggressive with there deals. Lots of meals for 2 or 3 for £5 or £6. Plus the dine ins of course.
I used to shop in waitrose a lot more than I do now (its close to home) but every single deal I have checked recently has been beaten by Tesco. I'm willing to walk 5 min further when the products are the same but the price is very different.

the meat is no different to what you could order in a butchers shop. Marks rip you off.

Christmas t bags lol they put some teabags in a box and call them Christmas t bags and charge over the top.

My local butchers charge more than M+S does. Sure you can get cheapo butchers selling dodgy sausages and 'Chinese' chicken, and you can probably get cheaper butchers selling good meat, but bottom line is if you can't afford the M+S shopping experience, don't shop there....
