VENT: Valuation Office Agency

We have a workshop for our business, which we pay business rates on, but it is not a proper 'address' - it is a shed.
The Valuation Office Agency is continually writing to us at this address, even though I have spoken to the several times and told them that it is only by chance that I will get some of the mail, as we do not occupy the shed, we store things in it! there is no post box and the postman just posts it through someone close by's box.
One of the letters gave me 56 days to respond - I only just managed that as I only just got the letter in time!
Anyway I have written them a letter today - I am really annoyed about having to do so though!

Have you supplied them with an alternative address for correspondence?
Have you considered using the Royal Mail Redirection service?"You were only supposed to blow the bl**dy doors off!!"0 -

Yes I have supplied them with our home address several times by phone and by letter.
If I use the mail redirection service them I will have to pay. Nobody else writes to us there - it is a shed with no letterbox. I think it is expensive enough having to pay not only rent for the shed, but business tax as well (which is almost as much as the rent!) without paying for redirection as well when they seem to be the only ones who cant get it right...0 -

Rather than use the redirection service for ever wouldn't it be easier just to fix a lockable postbox to the shed, or put a letterbox in the door. I didn't think the VOA would redirect the post, I tried that when I ran a pub for a M&B and they told me it wasn't possible even though I didn't own the business they said it had to be delivered to the business address. If you find you are drinking too much give this number a call. 0845 769 75550
