Whereas we in Scotland regularly chase the haggis round the hillside with our machetes...jeppy wrote:All my kids insist that I buy from companies that do not test on animals!!
Thank you OP!
We are all entitled to our opinions but I thought England was a country of animal lovers!!Debt free 4th April 2007.

Only an idiot thinks humans are superior to animals. Animal drug testing is unpleasant but the benefits speak for themselves. I bet fenris has lost count of the number of drugs he has used that wouldnt exist without these trials.
Until we get a better alternative, the tests continue.
Fenris, didnt you ever cut up a rat in school?
No! Thankfully it was removed from the curriculum before I even started school! If I were asked to I'd've refused; there are plenty of drawings, plastic models, video footage etc to show what goes where and why it's so.
As for drugs, yes I expect I have taken drugs that heve been tested on animals; it's not something I'll ever be proud of. However, most of the drugs I've been prescribed had their testing period before I was born, which means I'd've had very little say in how they were tested. I'm not happy that they were tested on animals, but it's been and gone. The creatures are dead now and their suffering ended. I'm saying there's no need for it in this day and age. There are better alternatives, but the we-need-our-daily-dose-of-tourture brigade refuse to use them. For most ailments I use non-prescribed homeopathic remedies.
Anyway, I really don't want to drag this argument out; there are those who agree with animal testing and there are those of us who think it's cruel and unnecessary and never the twain shall meet. Certainly not on this forum!0 -
