are you wanting to switch it on straight away after delivery ?, i think you have to let the gasses [sp] settle for a few hours 1stThis is a system account and does not represent a real person. To contact the Forum Team email forumteam@moneysavingexpert.com0

I think you need to let them stand for 24hours before turning it on then wait a few hours for it to get cold enough to keep things frozen before putting frozen food inPeople seem not to see that their opinion of the world is also a confession of character.

I believe it depends on how the fridge had been delivered, if it's laying down in the lorry, then you stand it up, it needs to be left for 24 hours. But if it's delivered upright then there's no problem just turning it on.
I could be wrong though, stranger things have happenedHe who laughs last, thinks slowest0 -
Hi thanks for the replys.
Well wether right or wrong we didnt with the last one and it has been fine so far! but it was delivered upright and was like that all the time..this one will be too as just too big to tip over.
I will get dh to take the food to work if not but just remember it being cold quite quickly but wether it was cold enough for frozen food im not sure..dont want food poisoning!0 -
I bought a fridge freezer and a up right freezer in last 2 years and been told they need a couple of hours for gas to settle
You can keep some food wrapped up in towels/blankets for a few hours tops unless its very cold day0 -
thanks think i will try and store most of it elsewhere tbh just to be on the safe side!
Thanks again0
