Bar Stools

Hi everyone,

I'm looking to get two bar stools for our breakfast bar in the kitchen. Could anyone recommend where we could go to get a good selection in the north down or Belfast area?

Looked on Ikea but there are no black leather ones there that we like and homebase don't stock them in store apparently.......

Had a look on Argos and there is one I quite like but I would like to see it in the flesh to get measurements of it when assembled so to speak!

Thanks!
Regards, Robin.

  • My friend has 4 she bought from Homebase about a month ago. She's changing the style of her kitchen, and doesn't need them now. They are lovely black leather (gas filled ??) stools.

I googled 'bar stools homebase' and I think it's the neptune one's she has.

If you're still interested, PM me and I'll give you her contact details. She lives in Dundonald.

  • Same situation here. Waited 30 days for an order that was supposed to have been dispatched twice, but they were never able to provide a carrier name or tracking number. Probably over 100 calls made to them of which only about 6 were ever answered. On these occasions, we were told that our money would be returned, but never was. Also sent 3 e-mails and never got a reply. Paid with Visa Debit so the bank has stepped in and refunded our money through the visa gaurantee scheme. They are also member of a trade association and contacted them as well without any degree of success. Buyers beware. Give this lot a wide berth!
  • Not cheap, but great quality and hence good value are the 100% leather barstools at John Lewis. Free delivery, even to NI !
  • Hi ,Just joined MoneySavingExpert Forum.Found your posts on Strictly Barstools too late. I too have 'purchased' goods from them.Order placed by phone on the 24/09/10. Money taken from account 25/09/10. So far no goods received. Have informed Thames Valley Police of this Fraud who were very helpful and already had a complaint about this company logged on their computer, which they told me was resolved! I have also spoken to Leicestershire Trading Standards who said they would forward my complaint to Berkshire Trading Standards. I am now in the process of trying to get my money back from Visa Debit. My experience was identical to yours, numerous phone calls to number on their website with no one answering. Co-owner of company called Jay Mistry (if you believe that) ringing me twice. Once to apologise, sounded very plausible, rang me again the following day to say original order lost in transit and further goods had been despatched which I would receive the following day-which of course I didn't. Oh and he gave me his mobile phone number which rings , but guess what! No-body answers!!!! Jimsy- can you give me the name of the trade association they belong to please as I would like to contact them as well Thanks Ratty61
  • I too found this fourm too late. I placed an order to Strictly barstools on the 29th sept (they took the money £118.97 the same day). I have made inexcess of 150 calls and sent 3 emails none of which have been answered. I am now in the process of claiming my moneyback through Visa credit. I would also like the details of the trading association they are a member of so i can put in a complaint that way as well.

PLEASE DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY !!!
  • I too have placed an order with strictlybarstools.co.uk on Tuesday 5th October but after many phone call and emails the goods are yet to be delivered. Blaming the courier but not supplying a consignment number is a normal excuss on the rare occasions i can get to speak to Jay.

Why can't credit card companies block payments to companies like this.
This is the second company that has failed to deliver.

The first was lightsandfurniture.co.uk This time they took payment and had no intention to tell us they had no stock!
