Yes it is check you gas pricing from npower as well.
post you gas prices on here and we will comment.
But for the elecy you need to call npower tommorrow and say you have check you prices they are high and what are you offereing. I have just changed from npower and I was paying 13p first units and 9.5p secondary units. Changing tariff does not affect the sate you get your 100 pound discount as that is based on the date you joined nPower not a traiff change.0 -
nPower current tariff is 69.30 standing charge per year and then 8.988p per KWH (all including VAT)
So you used 1404 over 7 months quick estimate is 1404 / 7 X 12 months = 2406 per year.
Current pricing is about 2406 x 13.4p = 322 quid per year. plus vat at 5% = 338.10
current npower pricing
= 2404 x 8.988 = 216.07 plus standing charge = 285 pounds. Saves you 50quid.0 -
Really? can I do that? change from one tariff to the other?
Ok gas prices are:
First 4572 KWH 7.693p
Additoinal KWH 2.488p
Could I for example stay on standard for gas and change to another tarriff on electric?Debt £30,823.48/£44,856.56 ~ 06/02/21 - 31.28% Paid OffMortgage (01/04/09 - 01/07/39)

Yes you can change tariff at any time call them but ask the question "would I get a better tariff if I change it online."
Is there any indication of what you gas tariff is called is it signonline 14 or SOL14. it looks like a "sculpting tariff " where they wieght the primary usage over the winter. i.e 85% of the primary (expensive usage) is allocated to the bill over nov to march and 15% over the other months this means that 300 pounds of expensive gas is allocated over the winter so making the winter bills a lot more money than the spring summer ones.
if you can not find the name of the tariff let me know the number of primary units you gas bill has for the usage from apil.0 -
Change to a standing charge tariff, turn your thermostat down a degree, put on an extra sweater, use an electric blanket on the bed, quicker showers and you won't need to increase your direct debit. Once the baby comes you don't want their room over about 18C anyway.Declutterbug-in-progress.⭐️⭐️⭐️ ⭐️⭐️0

Aelitaman - Sorry I went to bed (pregnancy takes it out of you lol) I am just on the standard gas tariff as well.
The usage was -
15/04/09 - 20/10/09 5361 - 5568 = 6666KWH
Charges: first 459 @ 7.693p, next 6207 at 2.488p
Firefox - we dont have a thermostat, we have a back boiler, and we can only turn it to 1, 2, 3 or 4 I think its currently on 2?
We have baths not showers (I have fell in love with baths since being pregnant, and we share the bath tee hee lol)

You are on one of this nPower gas tariffs where the majority of the expensive units are charged over the winter months. Change the gas tariff as well. As you can see from your pricing you get charged 7.693 pence for the first 4572 units used. They have allocated 459 of these expesnive units on your latest bill apr till nov. This means 4572 - 459 = 4113 are going to be allocated nov till march
4113 x 7.693 = 316 pounds just in primary rate.
You need to call nPower as soon as posible get on thier current tariffs. Do not change from npower because you are 7 months into the 12month period to get your 100 pounds duel fuel discount in april. The time to look to change supplier is immediately after that payment has been made to you. But do phone nPower and get on thier current rates. They will change the rates from literally the time of the phone call. Number on bill.0 -
Thank you very much, I am signed up for online billing and when I got a quote for the above rates it said I could switch online?
Should I just do that?
Do you know what would happen to the DD amount and the £'s in credit we are??
Sorry for all the questions
Do you agree that the Go Fix one above is the one to go for?Debt £30,823.48/£44,856.56 ~ 06/02/21 - 31.28% Paid OffMortgage (01/04/09 - 01/07/39)
