It was one of the first things dad said when they split up, that if mum carried on how she was she'd ruin our big days, sister says it's the main reason she never wants to get married, because the day would be ruined. Mum seems to go through phases, sometimes she's ok, but most of the time she's just a nightmare.

Anyway, to change the subject I need to make tea. I've got some salmon and stuff I took out of the freezer yesterday which needs eating today, but I really just fancy cheese on toast or something simple.
Unless I say otherwise 'you' means the general you not you specifically.

some leopard print ones (getting a pattern here are you?) and some spotty ones....

Would OH spoil Nat and Ryans day.....yes he would! I have been with John since Nats was tiny and she calls him Dad...they all do. He is to all intents and purposes their dad....Nats feels the same way....but she also still has a relationship with her 'real' dad.

You have to bear in mind this is the man who kicked me in the ribs when I was pregnant with Nats and I almost lost her....my OH knows this and just feels very protective.

I also know how destructive it can be if you shut out the ex OH from the life of your children...it has the opposite effect.

My OH would not only ruin the day but would make the build up to it and the aftermath unbearable too.

Nats has always said if she gets married I will be giving her away:j

I went for the bright pink tartan, and DD chose the ones with big spots. Tempted to get another pair. I even thought of getting the navy check ones for DS, but not sure if they're girly shaped in any way until mine arrive.

Now you've said that, it's undersandable that he should feel like that isnt it. A very difficult situation for you all really.

Neither of mine have been christened. We were just planning DDs when she was 5 months, when my mum died. The time never seemed right after that :o

Sammy, my mum's the same as your ex. It's my sister's graduation next week and mum's making a big deal about not being prepared to speak to dad, let alone sit with him. It's a nightmare for sister, mum's completely ruining an important day for her.

I would never spoil anything for my DDs - they are too precious. Dad and I went to the graduation and met OH there. He was scared of my Dad's reaction I think but I managed to keep the peace. We then all went back to my place for a family celebration and I asked his wife too. Didn't like having her in my house but needs must.

My last two haven't been christened....I lost faith with the church when they wouldn't let me get married in church twice...the first time cos i already had a baby and the second time cos I had been married before....
