School photo copyright

It's school photo time and one of the options this year is to buy them on a CD.

does anyone know if there are any copyright issues in getting them printed off or if it will just be for home printing.

I've tried ringing them, but there's no answer and I need to get the form back today.

I got caught out some years back trying to get a picture of my sister (who had passed away) printed off for relatives and places wouldn't do it as it was a professional photograph.

Thanks

  • my school photos say the cd may be emailed, copied and printed as many times as you like. however they must not be used commercially or for profit.
would the school office know ?

Friend of mine tried to get a picture copied but as it said on the back "copyright xxxx" no-one would do it.

However as it is on a CD there should be no problems at all

fortunately my 2 are at same school and have a joint one as well as individuals. I'm only intending to buy the joint one (as they are both looking half decent).

It does seem a little strange though, sending round a picture of the 2 of them when we have little number 3 as well who isn't included.

I took my baby in on school photo day and had them all done together - could you not do this?

They did offer this, but I was a bit of a coward and couldnt' face the queues. I thought the chances of me getting a photo in that environment with all 3 kids looking decent was slim :o

I didn't buy the school photos this year. But was originally hoping to buy the CD which was £17.50, more expensive than a printed version.
