Help with dealing with insurance companies

Hi,

Can anyone help? As a result of a faulty water tank installation we've had flooding in our loft and through our kitchen ceiling causing quite a bit of damage. The Gas Board have admitted liability for this but are being very pushy and are trying to down play the claim. I've thought about engaging a loss Assessor but the ones I've contacted are only interested in claims over £20K and ours is likely to be less than that. Are there any organisations or literature that can give me advice on dealing with Insurance companies?

Many thanks

contact your own house insurer. you should have legal cover included. (most have).
they will take over and deal with BG.
BG should pay to put the damage right, ie put the house back into the same condition as it was prior to the accident.
the main cost contention in these cases is the "betterment value" this will have to be agreed upon.
    Get some gorm.
