Can I do something to make my furniture match?

Options
Hi,

Any advice on restoring/painting furniture to match each other.
I have a dining room table, chairs, 2 bookshelves - all in good quality honey pine varnished real wood.
Old TV cabinet - in mahogony veneer
Cheap nest of tables - in light beech veneer.

I'd really like at all to match in a kind of aged antique dark wood effect.
Is it possible, or am I being overadventurous, lol.

Thanks in advance
Mo

    heh

funny you should mention it, im currently attempting to do the same with my room, i have currently only pine and want dark wood to.

have started off by sanding all the pine units, and got this stuff on ebay that is spirit based, (not varnish or anything), ill try and find the link, and have stained it slowly but surely, then put some wax finish on the end

im no expert, so i would equally like to know the proper way to do it, but ill find the stuff i used and post it up later

as for veneer, i have no idea :-/

    good luck tho
