i state in all auctions in the payent methods & preferred thingumy box in capital letters "no local pickup whatever the circumstances". why is this so diffidult for people to read? i am fed up of people asking me about pickup and fed up of telling them i dont do it for personal safety reasons.
There's someone in my head, but it's not me

You'll always get the odd buyer who doesn't properly read through the auction, its just something you need to put up with. Sometimes it's a genuine mistake where the buyer has perhaps forgotten to read the payment section or perhaps they need to clarify something with you.
I wouldn't let it stress you out too much as this is something that will happen on a pretty regular basis. If it does bother you then put 'no local pick-up' in larger letters in the auction itself, many buyers tend not to read beyond the auction body itself, and so miss the information at the bottom of the page.Stuff Happens As Wave of Ambiguity Spreads:cool:0 -
People will always ask for the larger items, especially if its going to cost alot to post it. Is this the case?0

It's partly the fault of sellers (in general).Anthillmob wrote:i state in all auctions in the payent methods & preferred thingumy box in capital letters "no local pickup whatever the circumstances". why is this so diffidult for people to read?
If you look at auctions of, for example, bicycles, you will see no end of items that have shipping as "personal pickup only", and yet there will be many Q&A's where a potential buyer has asked if the seller would be prepared to send by courier, and the seller has said: "Yes".
It just seems to be a fact of ebay life that people do not always mean what they say, sell what they offer or buy what they bid for.
Annoying to those of us who try and operate in a straightforward and predictable manner, but, what y'gonna do?0 -
