Hi all,
I don't have a stricly jobs-related question but I have a 'competancy-based interview tomorrow' for a part-time job with NHS 24 call centre. I'm not sure what to wear, i think a suit would be over the top but don't want to be too casual and look like an idiot. Any ideas? P.S. I'm a guy.
Thanks

Regardless of the position, you are applying for a job in an office / call centre environment, you should always dress to impress, it shows an element of pride. So I would recommend a suit, or smart trousers shirt and tie.
Good Luck0 -
Definately suited and booted.0

I've conducted many interviews as well as attended them. You can never go wrong with a smart suit, clean shoes and a tie.
Very best of luck0 -
Suit or trousers & jacket.
You can always take a jacket/tie off, you can't put them on if you don't have them0 -
Definitely a suit, or trousers, shirt and tie.
I've rejected a candidate before due to their scruffy clothes!Should've = Should HAVE (not 'of')
Would've = Would HAVE (not 'of')
No, I am not perfect, but yes I do judge people on their use of basic English language. If you didn't know the above, then learn it! (If English is your second language, then you are forgiven!)0 -

When I went for my interview to be a Seasonal Temp at Royal Mail last year I was sitting in a room with 70 people and I was the only one wearing a suit. I felt a right tit! :rotfl:Everyone else looked like they had just fallen out of bed!
In this case though, I would wear a suit!0 -
Minimum of shirt and tie but to be honest I would wear the suit,0

Do you prefer candidates that wear pink shoes too?
Abbas, you probably heard this a hundred times already but it's always best to over-dress then under-dress.0 -

I might show SOME preference to someone in pink shoes...
The person in question turned up for an interview in a suit (trousers and jacket), with a scruffy ripped tshirt underneath, and a pair of trainers! He did well at the interview, but was on a par with another guy, so the one who bothered to dress smartly got it.Should've = Should HAVE (not 'of')
