Don't know whether I'm posting in the right thread, but just wondering if anyone can recommend a builder in the Wokingham/Berks area?
Looking to have a single storey extension and garage conversion - so if anyone has had something similar done and can recommend the firm they used would be very grateful.
Very nervous - first time we've employed a builder!
Thanks.

Hiya
I grew up in Wokingham, mum and dad still there, and they usually use this website as their first port of call if they didn't have a recommendation already.
http://www.littlegreenbook.co.uk/wokbuilders.htm
It has all kinds of professions in.
Mum and dad had a utility room/conservatory built on the side of the house about 10 years ago and it is great, but they're on hol at the mo so can't ask them who it was.
Have any neighbours had an extension? Can you go round and ask them who they used and if they were any good?!0 -

Well, choose 3 of them to give you a quote."You were only supposed to blow the bl**dy doors off!!"0 -
Hi Barron Homes are based in Wokingham and are a very competant builder. They have done lots of work for firends of mine all of which has been to a high standard.
There is also a company called Ascot Construction that work in and around your area. I have both guys numbers PM me if you would like their contact details.0 -
I have sent you a PM with a good builder (Kam Construction) based in Sandhurst.0

Re Little Green Book. They refused to remove the builder we used from the book. We listed all the problems we had and gave film evidence but it seems we were the 'rogue' customers! They are paid by the businesses they advertise which says it all.
My advice is to get recommendations from elsewhere. Get three quotes. Look thoroughly at references, follow them up and make sure they are recent. Get a proper contract drawn up. If you can afford it pay for another party to manage the project.0
