Cleaning grout off travertine tiles

We've finally finished tiling and grouting our bathroom with travertine tiles.
We sealed the tiles (twice!) before grouting and are just cleaning off all the grout residue before sealing again. Most of the residue comes off with rather a lot of elbow grease but there are also some stubborn bits of grout which just won't shift. I don't feel like I'm getting anywhere! aaargh ... any help much appreciated
