Sorry if this is the wrong forum.I don't know what the latest prices are really on LCD tv's or which ones are better to get etc but i need a smaller one to go in my dining room(to stop the kids arguing since the small 14 inch protable broke:rolleyes: ) and to fit on the wall preferably.I found this one in Argos which is 19 inches and is HD ready which might come in handy in the future though not essential as we don't or won't have a cable(with NTL) box out there but we have a freeview box.Would it also work with a freeview box(silly ? i suppose they must all do hey?)

Anyway here it is plus you can buy now and pay 2007 interst free as long as you pay it off before the deadline:)

Thanks guys:)

The only way you can tell if it is good enough for you is to see it working. Peoples opinions of what a good set is vary and as do peoples expectations. I will self confess to being a hifi snob but some peoples "this is amazing" hifi has been totally unlistenable to me though there have been others at the same price point which I would consider acceptable (given the price)

Thanks i'm not so fussed as to how it looks or what it's like(i feel that they ae all the same in the end though i'm sure others will disagree) but if it's a good price for the size of the screen, the make and the spec etc or does anyone know of anything of better value out there at the moment?:)

Ok... you dont care about the picture or sound but you do care about the spec (which is generally used to try and guess the picture and sound quality)?

What are you wanting this set for then? To resell?

Anyway.. looking at: http://www.pricerunner.co.uk/sound-and-vision/vision/tv/browse?sort=5&saved_products=0&search=&price_min=&price_max=&a_11=between%3B14.0%3B20.0&a_13=LCD&a_2714=&a_4026=&a_3248=&a_3916=&a_15=Widescreen&a_12=&a_2709=&a_2723=&a_16=&a_2724=&autofilter=on it would appear that it is a reasonable price but there are other options that are cheaper

I bought this one from Argos (a bit less than it is now) and I'm really pleased with it - freeview is built in.

No let me rephrase it the reason i'm asking is if it's good for the price or is there a 19inch cheaper out there or maybe a 20inch for the same price or maybe something a bit smaller like a 17inch for £100 less but also HD.

Of course i do care about the picture/sound etc but i want to know if there is anything better out there:)

By the way why would i bother buying the one from Argos to sell when you can buy it from Argos at that price?

Horsenailbucket thanks for that i'll have a look now:)

Right had a look and it looks good but i think it would be better having one that's HD even though i don't need it at the moment as it might come in handy in the future more than freeview which the one i posted doesn't have but your one does. Thanks again.

As I suggested that you should get a demo of the set to look at the picture quality etc to judge for yourself but you replied that you didnt care what it was like just that it was a decent spec/make etc for the money.

I didnt know why someone would want specs but not performance and resell is the only thing that sprung to mind... it isnt as if some retailers on the likes of Ebay dont sell items over their RRP based on high spec but low performance models.

As a lot of mags etc are saying that it isnt worth getting HD on anything smaller than a 32" screen as the difference wont be noticable at normal viewing distance I dont think you will find too many 19"ish screens with HD. Looking at pricerunner they have 2 20" HD screens at £350 and £450
