Help setting up webcam PLEASE!

Options
My 10 yr old has just purchased a webcam so that he can talk to his friends on MSN. We have installed the drivers and got it going on the laptop but cannot get an image on the PC. We have used exactly the same procedure each time and have even unistalled and reinstalled the driver on the PC 3 x to see if this helps. Still no image! Just a black screen. The creative website is not very inspiring and I can not find an answer. It is a Creative Live Effects.

If anyone can help I'll be very grateful!

Within the options you can set the brightness, Also is theie enough light in the room, any kind of cap? and did you install the software correctly, ie put the cable in when asked and what OS are you using XP?
  • Yep, brightness is all fine - adjust all controls but to no avail. There is plenty of light - 2 windows! (There aren't even shadows - it's literally black screen). Have installed software 3 x and it works on laptop so I don't think it is installing error from me. Using XP media centre edition - any more thoughts??
