Hi, after nearly throwing up watching that programme on BBC3 last night, (I had eaten a lamb shank in mint gravy for tea thinking it would be ok.... !) I have decided that I really need to start looking after myself more, so I am looking to you all for advice, inspiriation..
I have IBDand need to be on a low residue diet, ie, no fruit, fibre, fats, dairy, pastry, spicy food or alcohol.. but I will let you into a secret, I do enjoy eating/drinking all the above but i do suffer for it! I do steer away more from fruit, pastry and brown things... bread, bran etc
Are there any threads or websites on here that have ideas for lone people?:T

He who asks is a fool for five minutes, but he who does not ask remains a fool forever.

Sounds to me like you need to investigate an 'Atkins' type diet..Trust me - I'm NOT a doctor!0

Oh please don't look at Atkins. It is terrible for your body, as ketosis (the fat burning it induces) is very similar to the problem diabetics have. It is essentially a method of selling the supplements you need to keep healthy having removed most of the veg from your diet.
If it worked for you babyshoes, congrats, but I ask people to remember that the 'Atkins' who created it died extremely rich, and extremely fat.
GI plans might be more suitable, since they avoid wheats, brans etc. Some days, it's just not worth chewing through the leather straps....
