The college would be able to give you information about reduced fees if you're on any type of benefit. If you're not, they often do payment by instalments if you can't afford to pay all at once. Ask them for advice/info first. HTH

    Hi

They cannot do reduced fees as it is not a government funded course. The installments are in two goes but over £300 each time, cannot afford that!

Can you not get a student loan? If you are over 21, then they are based on your income

You don't have to pay it back until you are earning £15+ and it's 9% of your income

    Hi,

I probably cannot get a student loan as my credit rating is attrocious. I cannot get a reduction on the course i am doing unfortunately because it is not government funded.

    Thanks

If you live in one of 19 pilot areas you can apply for an adult learning grant of £30 per week, this can be claimed alongside certain other benefits, but is sadly only available to those who are in the pilot areas.

Most colleges have daycare nurserys available that you can use your vouchers in, these nurserys usually give priority to students so that they can link childcare to their courses. (not sure how old your kids are?)

It is worth looking at other local colleges to see if they offer the same course only with government aid. I have two colleges near to me that offer the ACCESS course, one charges a couple of hundred for you to do it, at the college I go to it is free. Worth checking.
