I think that some places only take 10% of the shopping bill in vouchers, others will take vouchers if they are all different...i.e. one of each voucher (so I try to have a wide range in my purse just in case) and will not take duplicates and my favourite lovely kind hearted soles will take them all
Afternoon! Thought I'd look in at this thread again before going off to buy several copies of the Times and The Mail (see 'Newpaper June 1st' thread) there's coupons today worth more than the papers - as is often the case!
I only spend a certain amount if I've got one of those Tesco or Sainsbury's '£8 off an £80 spend' etc. Otherwise do lots of small shops and hand over as big a wedge of money-off coupons as they will take. Best amount was around £50 begrudgingly accepted by cashier towards a £70 bill at Asda last week (I had checked first with nice CS lady as to their policy, and at that branch - Brighton Marina - I was told they accept any amount if they stock the item!!). My eyes lit up and I had to stop myself from going back to the car for more from my stockpile (already had the £50-worth in coat pocket).
At the moment I'm pleased because I managed to use all those that expired May 31st, now just got to get rid of the pesky 15p off kerrygold butter ones! I have vowed to only buy higher value ones on eBay in future!
Keep on shopping!!:TPRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).

Hi, I'm new, this is such a great site! :-)
My local Tesco Extra are very strict & will only take 3 coupons at a time. I had 9 of the £1 First Defence anti-cold spray coupons I picked up from Boots left on the 31st May (expiry date).
I was so determined to use them I split my shopping into 3 lots & whizzed thru' the checkout 3 times (3 diff. ones!) locking my 1st trolley into the shopping-minder cupboard & just adding the bags to it each time! Sounds mad but it was easy & took only a few mins for each little load. Very pleased to save the £9. Treated myself to the 'New Woman' mag (£2.80) with Faith flip-flops, they are brilliant quality BTW.0 -
My local paper just had 4 x 25p off Mars Multipacks. Their website is https://www.marsbelieve.com but I can't find any details of offers. Perhaps you could email them and ask for some. Its part of their World Cup promotion.Nevermind the dog, beware of the kids!0

coupon mad
....wow £50 in one shop..the most I've ever been allowed has been £33 and I thought that was good going
*chuckling at koupon kween* uuummm *looking around to make sure no one is listening* I've done that too lol ....ohh and by the way welcome to the boards
It is strange that all the tesco stores seem to have different rules to go by.
chelltown, thank you for that..think i'll try and email, its worth a go.0 -
Welcome Koupon-kween! If this thread dies out soon I feel sure we will talk to you again on the Voucher threads, or on the Tesco Misprices thread (and Tesco Misprices Discussion area) which are well worth a look for supermarket-shopaholics!
I also had far too many Vicks coupons (until I finally got shot of them in Asda!) but they were good because they were worth £1 each. I just don't much like the coupons that are worth under 50p because they take ages to scan (holds up the queue and draws attention to coupon-use which might get a 'jobsworth' Supervisor having a moan).
Also, if you do find you've been overcharged and go to Customer services to get your full refund (and still keep the item for free - see Tesco misprices threads for details!) it's a bit embarrassing when the 'coupon-part' of the receipt is twice as long as the items purchased...!
I was at Tesco till 10pm tonight, could have got in a queue at 9.30pm but the lad who I knew would happily scan all my coupons was v.busy! All the other cashiers were female and I really try to avoid them as they are usually just so stingy about taking vouchers! So I wandered around for 20 more mins before swooping for my chosen till operator (£50-worth of shopping cost £25, not bad!).
:j
One word of warning for 'newbies', a few MSE contributors have been banned from certain Tesco stores for overstepping the coupon-usage policy of that store! I will try to add a link to one such thread in a mo....
