awarded dla at tribunal , payments ?

hi
we went to the tribunal yesterday for dla for my son who has a heart problem , it was awarded in our favour , does any one know how long it will take to get the payments ? it was also backdated to march

Firstly congratulations on winning your appeal!
The backpay can take a few weeks as the payment can be delayed while the DLA consider whether to appeal the decision. Don't panic if that happens, as the majority of cases are not appealed, but they have to go through the process.
If you don't hear anything within a couple of weeks it is worth a phone call to see what is happening.I'm a retired employment solicitor. Hopefully some of my comments might be useful, but they are only my opinion and not intended as legal advice.0
