I'm a fan of dermalogica but there are only a few products I'd really buy again (Ive been using samples or starter kit items from ebay as I'm unable to afford the real thing!)

I like the daily microfoliant which really seems to clear my skin, I had an outbreak of spots a month ago after trialing a moisturiser sample for a survey. I then went back to using the microfoliant and the spots are now gone and alot faster then they were to begin with when I first stopped using the cream!

I like the under-eye care with SPF which is good as its thin enough to sink into my skin and slightly coloured, remarkably matches my paler then pale skin tone! It doesn't leave a heavy feel on my face and feels moisturising.

The daily facial washes are good as they are mild, but you can find cheaper versions which are mild if you know what to look for. Clinique have a great extra-mild facial wash which sounds mega pricey, but does last all year! Many facial washes wont outlast a season, let alone a year (or more!).

I didn't like the spray toner as I don't like spraying cold stuff in my face but it can be used to spray onto cotton wool pads to wipe over your face to get rid of cleanser residue. It doesn't cause drying or flaking which my skin is prone to.

The creams are ok, but do tend to do that filmy-thing. They maybe are better suited to being night creams.

Not a fan of Dermalogica either - I found them too heavy. I use Aldi lotions and potions and love them.
    Mags - who loves shopping
  • I use Dermalogica cleanser and mask and I really like them - the cleanser is really creamy and feels more like a moisturiser and the mask is really moisturising.

I also had some samples given to me when I went for a facial and really liked the pre-cleanse too.
  • Hi everyone,

thanks for the replies and sorry I haven't replied sooner! Still debating about whether to buy any dermalogica products (especially when I woke up this morning with a MASSIVE spot on my chin!)
Had a look at them at Gatwick duty free the other day, but was very good and walked away (very poor at the mo!)

I'm considering doing the OCM - I really want to find a gentle yet really effective cleanser that can remove all my make-up and help prevent spots!

Thank you for this site Martin
The time for change has come
    Good luck for the future
  • I've been using them for a while now on the recommendation of my facialist, I only use the Microfoliant and the moisturiser but they've both really cleared up my skin. The microfoliant is expensive but I've been using mine for 6 months now and still have about 1/4 left, I think with expensive products they do go a really long way.

I have to admit though that I cling to the hope that good ingredients will stand me in good stead in 20 odd years or so!
  • I like quite a few Dermalogica products - the microfoliant, lip balm, masks and the cleanser I use. The mask is amazing!
  • Is it worth me buying the "pre-cleanser" before using other products, or should I just buy the normal cleaner? Also should I use a toner?

I'm not keen on the pre cleanse, I have to admit. Just do a double cleanse - once to remove any make-up/grime and the second one to actually clean the skin.

I had a sample of the pre cleanse and really liked it, my skin felt even lovlier afterwards! Not sure if I'd buy it though, my beauty regime is enough of a faff as it is!
