Halifax sending personnel Information to wrong address

Halifax are writting to all their customers advicing them of the new chargers to the bank account. On returning from holiday I opened my post to find that the Halifax had written to a previous occupant of my house (who passed away in 2001) advicing them of the changers. I was surprised that they had included the, sort code, account and role number.
So please ensure that you have notified the Halifax and other banks of any address changers.
If you dont then the account details could fall into the wrong hands/
I returned the letter to the local branch.

Lucky for Halifax that the customer is dead, so there's no breach of DPA.
But, to be fair, if the account is still open (which I admit is not likely), and they've not been advised of a change of address or the death, then it's reasonable for them to have written to your address.
Just waiting now for someone to come along and tell you it's an offence to open post addressed to someone else.0 -
But it's not an offence, surely you know that already

I was tempted to point all the spelling, grammatical and punctuation errors though...If it looks like a duck, and quacks like a duck, we have at least to consider the possibility that we have a small aquatic bird of the family anatidae on our hands
