Argos Damaged Fridge

I had a fridge delivered today from Argos.
After unpacking I noticed there was slight damage to one of the bottom corners where it had been dented and the casing cracked.
I phoned CS and was offered a replacement or discount of 10% on the slightly damaged one.
I opted for a replacement which will be delivered on Friday.
The question is,if I had kept the current one and accepted the 10% discount (don`t know if it was cash or a voucher),how would I have stood in future if anything had gone wrong inside the 12 month guarantee period?

I don't believe it would have affected either your statutory rights or warranty. The only thing they could do is if, say, the damage then spread which led to a fault in the fridge, you wouldn't be covered for that since you accepted the damage.
Personally I would have gone for the replacement too. And good on Argos for not trying the "Well you signed for it", wheeze0 -
ARGOS are very good at replacing items they never seem to bothered and just send out a replacement hence i buy all my electical goods from them0

I must admit that I`ve been impressed with the way they have handled the order from start to finish, contacting and keeping me informed about the delivery.
Mishaps happen and like all good companies, especially the supermarkets, they replace or refund.
Also on the receipt I signed on delivery there is no mention about the condition of goods received.
Only question I could see was "were the goods delivered to the room of your choice?"
Delivery people phoned me about 15 minutes before to say they were on their way.
Having said all that if the next one to be delivered on Friday has any problems, then I wont be too happy.
Fingers crossed :rotfl:0 -
I had my fridge damaged when they delivered it, they put a small scratch down the side, as it was going into a recess I opted to keep the fridge and they gave me a cheque for £30.0

Seems you got a good deal on a small scratch.
My 10% wouldn`t come close to that.
Maybe the difference was that they were seen damaging it.
In my case it could have been done anywhere.
Thanks for the reply, always interesting to see how different people are treated.0 -

The bloke delivering it caught it on the door handle.
He phoned head office straight away and they said they could either take it back for a replacement or they would send me £30 if I kept it.0 -
Demand that the CEO of ASrgos personally comes round your pad and removes the faulty product with immediate effect and gives you loads of bear hugs and kisses, red roses and champaigne.
failing that it is only cosmetic and does not invalidate the working of the product.0
