Is this really Intelligent Finance???

Is this right, I can't take cash and pay it into my Intelligent Finance account via a branch!!? I need to get some money paid into my account and I can't think of any other way to do it other than give it to someone else to pay into their account and then transfer it to my IF account which will take 3-5 days!!!

    It's an internet / telephone account.

    You could post a cheque.

    IF don't have a branch network.

    Perhaps open an account with another bank and use that to feed payments through?

    I find that very inconvenient as I cant move banks right now! Can't really post a cheque because of the postal strikes!

    are you sure you can't use your debit card in a deposit machine as a halifax branch?

    I'd find it very strange that IF has no way of making deposits by cash.

    Give it someone with an FP enabled current account (ie HSBC, FD, & NatWest/RBS) and you'll get it there same day*...within 2 hours or even instantaneously in many cases.

    * Max £10K though.

    You can - by transfering it from another bank account. It's an Internet & phone banking account. Did you not know that when you opened it? It should have been made clear on the application?

    I would have thought the application having to be done online without going into a non-existent branch network would have made this clear. :confused:
    Anything I post is my opinion, so from time to time I may be wrong. I try to provide answers based in fact, however I don't know everything, so (like all posters on MSE), take what I say with a pinch of salt.

    Their web site says:

    "Don't consider if: you don't want to bank online or don't have a mobile phone*."

    Why? The business was set up as an alternative to branch banking.
