Debt Agencies, International numbers???

Options
Does anyone know if Debt Agencies / banks use international numbers to contact you?

I have had some missed calls and no messages left on my phone!

Just wonder if any of you have picked up the phone of an international number only to find some agency/bank is chasing a debt?

Thank you.

They could do. But generally their number is witheld on the caller display system so you cant identify them. Never had anyone from abroad phoning me.

i answered a call today from an internatial number...
    and it was

    MBNA

And they told me i was 5 quid in areeas and my min payment was 60 quid but if i made a payment of £4 it would look good in my favour. (for my dmp to be accepted by them)

then the indian guy called john smith ???????? told me he couln't belive that i had no money in my bank to pay them ...

after 25 mins of him calling mr matthews (matthew is my first name) and telling me i should pay them the £4 i told him the call was going nowere and i was terminating it and could they not call me again.....
he said "the calls will continue untill your dmp is accepted"

It's funny how all these offshore call centres employ John, Dave, Bob, Sharon, Tracey and 'shell. Have you even tried phoning them back and asking for Dave? Nobodies ever heard of him

The moral of the story is never trust a man called Dave, especially if he's not local.
  • what i used to do was if they left a message on answear phone i never returned the call , they can pay for it. and for the cards in the post call this number straight in the bin
