dont want to add oil into this burning topic. but still cant help from saying this much.
u know, it all depends on the each ones perspective. for some, life is a big puzzle. its a big hurdle. lots of hardship. for them, they always need help. if theres anybody willing to offer it, they r eager to follow them. thats why religion succeeds, thats why ppl like trisha succeed. but theres nothing wrong in it. thats the way they are. just like we say there r some ppl who wud want a cup of tea first thing in the morning.
there r others who feel they can take on the world. (thats why the god has send them). so they believe in themselves. confident enuf to stand on their own feet and proclaim that i can live my own life. for them the other 'helpers' are just as human as themselves. after all these leaders r just humans, who have had the same life. briliiant. these ppl can have a succesful life as well.
personally, i still wonder, if the so called helpers like trisha and oprah are indeed great, why do they make so much money for helping ppl? so is the primary aim helping us or helping themselves?0 -
what the hell has this got to do with religion, i dont understand ur point on that one.eagertosave wrote:dont want to add oil into this burning topic. but still cant help from saying this much.

couldnt agree more with ur point about money, people like Trisha and Oprah etc. have mock therapy on TV where people open their hearts to the nation in the vulgar way car-crash TV makes them. Total fraud, totally cynical i hate people like Trisha0 -
rhoeds121 wrote:Trisha is a joke, surely you see that? Just because she has had a hard time doesnt make her some sort of expert. Everyone has problems but we dont all go running into therapy. Where did I say she was expert
. Personally I would rather talk to someone who has been through the same problem as me rather than someone who has no idea what it feels like to have been through the same. Even if they don't hold a PHD.
I never said I agree with what she does. She does make trashy TV just like all the rest you can name. And if you have to go on TV to tell someone that they are not the father of what that they thought was their child. Then I do think there is something wrong with you and you are rather desperate.
Also love the way you edited my post to miss out what I think was a very important point I made.
"Also do you really think that she wrote it all by herself with out professional help."
But if her book helps one person to turn there life around or gets someone to seek professional help. Then what is wrong with it.
There are many famous people who write books about all sorts of subjects and half the time on subjects they really don't know that much about e.g like parenting. But are helped by people who do. So lets trash them as well.
It is people like you that don't help. Why do you think that people do silly things like kill themselves because they feel they have no one to turn to talk about things with. If we all took your approach then nobody with mental health issues would get any help at all. I am sure that is going to do them so much good. Why not just stick them on pills that turn them in to zomibes and unproductive people. That is really good for society as whole.
But sad to say the likes of Trisha make TV that people want to watch. That is the honest truth. Rather like Big Brother that is pile of poo. But people watch it. If no one watched then it would quikcly die a death.

whoa! I think a "time out" here needs to be taken!
Im not taking any sides here. Im not really into Trisha or anyone like that, but this is a freebie here for people to have if they need
Cant it be left at that and not people upsetting other other?
Thanks to OP0 -
If people want help, there are things called clinical psychologists and psychiatrists.calleyw wrote:

Let's all not forget that Trisha is actually a trained counsellor.
No-one should ever be dammed for needing help emotionally, it isn't a sign of weakness. Those people who have been through hell and back, and have gotten help, will know how much they needed it. It is difficult enough that they have to admit they need help, let alone people saying 'they need someone to rely on' and that 'God put strong people on the earth because they can fend for themselves'. Actually, in my professional experience, it's the people who think they are strong that are covering the cracks more.
(and for the record, the Trisha show provides continued back-up and also has used Psychologists and Psychotherapists in her show too)
A huge thumbs up to the OP for posting this one!!1 John 4: 7 & 80 -
I dont agree with a word you said. Any fool can call themselves a 'counsellor' it requires no qualifications whatsoever. In the same way anyone with a degree in psychology can call tmeselves a psychologist. This is what Trisha uses an her fraud showcookiesncream wrote:Let's all not forget that Trisha is actually a trained counsellor.
