What to do with leftover duck
Comments

Belisarius - The cassoulet sounds really nice. Sounds really nice for when the nights draw in.
WhiteWillow - That sounds like a hugh amount from a duck. I didn't think it was possible to get that much from it but it's worth a try. At least nothing will be waster. The fruity curry sounds really yummy.
Thanks everybody for the recipes even though the thread has gone really bizarre. I didn't know what to think when I first saw the rubber duck but it's really funny. :rotfl:TOTAL DEBT £12,212.46/£2000 paid offDebt Free Goal September 2017#106 Emergency Fund £482.53/£10000 -
Hi
not sure if i have posted this in the right section, but here goes:
I have been given some frozen pre-cooked Duck halves and i am looking for meal ideas. I have had these before and made sweet and sour with rice, but i am looking for something different this time.
Look forward to hearing suggestions.....0 -
Duck pancakes - shredded duck, sliced spring onions, hoi sin sauce (Win Yip). I can buy the pancakes from a chinese supermarket near me, they come frozen, big pack with approx 20 individually wrapped packs of 6 pancakes inside.
Make Duck spring rolls?
Have the duck meat with a roast dinner - we had it on sunday and it was delicious :-)0 -
You can buy the spring roll wrappers in most supermarkets now, or Wing Yip.
Duck (Shredded)
Spring onions (finely chopped)
Beansprouts
Soy sauce and / or Hoisin
[Or any of your favourite ingredients]
Marinate in Hoisin / Soy - wrap into little cigar shapes, seal ends with either water or egg wash, and fry.0 -

Classically, with an orange sauce, or with a cherry sauce served with steamed veg and potato.
I love duck roasted and made into a salad with grapefruit segments and watercress, its a good salad at this time of year as its rich and substantial.0 -

Last time I cooked a duck I found this site which not only introduced me to a Nigel Slater recipe that sounds amazing (although I will never be allowed to try as roast duck =regular roast spuds in duck fat in my OH's eyes (but maybe with duck legs) but the soup was a truly wonderful creation. Yum Yum0

Lefotver duck works well in stir fry or risotto. And yes, the fat does make goreous roast spuds or even pan fried crispy new potatoes...Trust me - I'm NOT a doctor!0
