AE&G users, look out on your next gas and leccy bills for the latest example of 'How to rip off your customer'.

I religously update their estimated readings every quarter and only in the last month requested them to increase my direct debit to take account of their latest increase (which they have actioned). Nevertheless, I am lead to believe that my direct debit amount is insufficient and that they need to increase it by 132% for leccy and 130% for gas!!

Turning to the back of the invoices, I find a "helpful" panel which shows 'how we have calculated your new payment amount'. Or rather it doesn't , as they do not explain how they arrived at the estimated usage figure quoted.

Given that I returned actual meter readings almost exactly one year ago to the day, you would think that they would be able to come up with a pretty accurate estimation. But no, their estimate for leccy useage was 82% overstated and gas a mere 73% overstated!!

The CS lady put the direct debits back to the figures I requested last month but had no explanation about how they had so blatantly overestimated useage.

I've just swapped back to BG as Atlantic have put their prices up by an unbelievable amount. They are no longer the cheapest.
