thanks starnac: I plan to spend my bonus on 1000 tubs of Haagan Daz ice cream, cookie dough flavour. (Joking
)
I actually had a small victory today. I used to play a game called "World of Warcraft", you've probably heard of it, it costs £9 per month to play, and I cancelled my account 6 months ago, I complained last weej as they've been taking money from my account since then. They just mailed to say they're refunding me six months of payments !!! This is going straight on my credit card bill. I know it's only £54 but I'm actually really chuffed about it. :j
edit: I found a pound in my laundry!:DBank Loans: [STRIKE]£25000[/STRIKE] £0- Barclay Card 14%: [STRIKE]£2500[/STRIKE] £0- Student Loan: [STRIKE]£12,500[/STRIKE] £0

:eek::eek::eek: I just checked my paperwork, and my NAtwest loan is 16.6% APR, I thought it was 13%!!! Oh well, will need to change this over to lower interest loan as soon as possible. Can't do it right now though, as I've just got my barclaycard, so will need to wait for my credit score to recover from that for a few months, then attempt to change my loan at the beginning of March, which is when I'm aiming to clear my Nationwide and Barclaycard.
So March 2010, I will switch my Natwest loan onto an 8% Tesco loan, halving my interest, I'll also overpay it each month too when I can.
So my big goal for 2010 is to half my debt. It's £23,000 right now, by Christmas 2010, I want it down to under £10,000. My debt will be around 22k on Jan 1st 2010. So I'm looking to pay off 12k in one year. 1k a month :eek:
It should be possible. in June next year, when my flat contract expires, I'm moving to a shared flat, which will free up about £300 a month ontop of the 700-800 I currently manage to put towards debts each month, add to that my bonus in March which should be around 3k. This goal should be easy to acheive. Wow, I could be debt free by summer 2011 :j
Then start saving for a house deposit and a motorbike.Bank Loans: [STRIKE]£25000[/STRIKE] £0- Barclay Card 14%: [STRIKE]£2500[/STRIKE] £0- Student Loan: [STRIKE]£12,500[/STRIKE] £0

I got just under £50 refund from Blizzard for complaining about being charged for World of Warcraft when I've not been playing it.:j
But I also spent a lot at tesco the other day too. It wasn't all on rubbish though. I bought a DVD for my niece for christmas, and a new duvet and cover for myself. My current duvet is wearing thin and not keeping me that warm, so even though I'm trying to save, I still need to buy things like this. It's my friends 30th this weekend too, so I bought a few cheap bottles of alcohol.:beer:
December's meant to be explensive, so it's okay, and I get paid before Christmas too, so should get through this month okay, might not save much (if anything, but it won't ruin me).:jBank Loans: [STRIKE]£25000[/STRIKE] £0- Barclay Card 14%: [STRIKE]£2500[/STRIKE] £0- Student Loan: [STRIKE]£12,500[/STRIKE] £0

You are paying 335 per month for Iphone??? Whoaaa...Don't worry about how much you spent pre MSE, we all spent money on silly things-I rather not list mine though:) December is expensive for everyone-I'm hoping for a nice bonus from my boss to compensate that.0

Thanks, have corrected that to £35 per month. My bonus is already being spent on debts.
Not worried about spending too much later this month though, as I'll mainly be drunk!!!Bank Loans: [STRIKE]£25000[/STRIKE] £0- Barclay Card 14%: [STRIKE]£2500[/STRIKE] £0- Student Loan: [STRIKE]£12,500[/STRIKE] £0

Hehe:) the best money saving thing I did this year was that I never started drinking after NYE. I got so drunk that even thinking about alcohol making me still sick-I don't know how I face Xmas and NYE this year like this. We still have bottles of wines and champagnes left from last year-they all become xmas presents for friends :j. £35 is not bad for Iphone, sounds better than £335

Wow, spent a bit too much on Christmas pressies, will need to have a slim month january and february. I've also got a problem with my car which looks like it's going to cost me quite a bit.Bank Loans: [STRIKE]£25000[/STRIKE] £0- Barclay Card 14%: [STRIKE]£2500[/STRIKE] £0- Student Loan: [STRIKE]£12,500[/STRIKE] £0

My main worry was that I'd become very voring by trying to save money all teh time, and that this could have a bad affect on my relationship with my girlfriend. But there's plenty of free or very cheap things we can do together that still allow me to save.
If you're in London and looking for free stuff to do, drop me a PM as I've become a master at this recently :cool: Actually, if you pay 600 quid for a one bedroom, I imagine the chances are quite slim...
Sounds like you're off to a great start! I'll be keeping an eye on this diary, for sure...Mortgage free by 30:eek:: £28,000/£100,000Debt free as of 1 October, 2010
