I once had one like this. They thought that there was probably an electrical short somewhere in the casing that kept on blowing the board. After about 3 boards, they swapped out enough of the innards that it didn't happen any more.

They will fix it eventually. It's in their interest not to just keep wasting money on it.

    What is your question, exactly?

Move this to the complaints part of the board ... I think you could reject as not fit for purpose .... Sale of Goods Act ... do some research - see what you think?

  • Advent laptops are dreadful in my experience,I have seen advent machines that get so hot due to bad workmanship/ inadequete design that its a wonder the battery doesnt erupt into flames. Of all the laptops iv used throughout my life, Advents have to be the most unreliable. Currys/pc world etc like to faff about changing motherboards etc which does nothing to cure the underlying design defects until your guarantee runs out, then your on your own.
I wouldnt go near the Advent brand, they are cheap for a reason lol
