Hey all
Can anyone in Cardiff possibly tell me whether the open air car park near CIA and the NCP car park is now less busier since the opening of John Lewis and new St Davids shopping centre?
I am taking group of kids to Cardiff in a minibus this week and I know I can park the bus there (no height barrier etc) but last time I went the car park was full (at 11am) with mainly contractors vans.
Any help would be appriciated

if you don't mind walking a bit, park in roath, its only about 20 minutes walk. Richmond road is pretty much guaranteed to have a space for you, its quite long. if that fails, there are many roads nearby. Be careful as part of those roads are residents only spaces.0

Are you talking about the new car park above the new shopping centre (sorry don't know name!). I went in there the other day and it is huge, don't know about height limits though. There's Sophia Gardens which is a pleasant walk into town only 5 mins. Not sure of cost.Torgwen..........

I got the impression that the OP was talking about the car park oppposite the Guildhall, by the traffic lights at the bottom of Churchill Way.
Last time I went there, it cost me an arm and a leg.
Depending on when you are going (as the roads will be closed Sunday Morning for the rememberance service) I would be tempted to park up by the City Hall.2014 Target;

The open car park in Pellett St opposite the NCP wasn't too bad today at about 12.00, still quite a few spaces available, it does vary day by day.
The car park just around the corner past the Radisson and under the bridge I think it's John St, where the temp library was costs £4.50 a day for cars and had spaces, vans just around the next bend Tyndall St costs £5.00 a day also had spaces(don't know which category a mini bus comes under}.
If you want to chance it, look at the site behind Peacocks on Tyndall St (were the units have been demolished), just walk over the railway bridge leading from Pellet St and a lot of people are parking for free there. I can't guarantee that's safe but no clamping or parking tickets and I've been watching that for weeks.
I'm not an odd ball checking parking spaces, just a courier in the area.:D0 -
Many thanks for replies!
I would love to park further and walk but it's not possible with timings etc. Coming from Llanelli. Cost isn't too important as work are paying!
Cheers

I parked in the Adams St one, that was the one I was on about in my post. It was hardly full! And only £5 for day
