Mesh Computers & Windows 7

I have just contacted Mesh Computers to confirm that the Desktop PC I ordered last week comes with Windows 7 installed, as the Banner headline on their website states. "All Mesh PCs Come with Windows 7 installed".
The guy from Mesh just told me NO, the PC I purchased (Mesh Essential) does not have any system on it.
I have now cancelled the order as this was the whole point of buying from them.

Can't help wondering... what Mesh mean with their Grab headline saying "All our PC's have Windows 7 installed" when in fact they do not.

Just a word of warning if your hunting for one.

When you look at the detailed spec, sure their is no mention of Windows 7, however the Main statement on their website implies that ALL of their PC's have Windows 7, I simply assumed to my cost that it did. Mesh's statement "ALL"really means "SOME"

MESH PC's are of poor quality (the ones i have stripped down) and the tech support is sub-standard (barely speak English and rude).

This was around 2 years ago, and judging by the managemtent changes they have been having, i doubt it has improved.
  • The OP must have selected the customizable Essential PC where you supposed to pick what you want as an Operating System and can choose to upgrade various components. If you don't customise it, which is rather missing the point, then you don't get an Operating System.

The Banner I see is "Order your Mesh computer today - pre-installed with Windows 7"

And yes some of their products list Windows 7 and some don't.
It's quite clear which do and which don't.

so the banner is saying for those that come with Windows 7 - then it's pre-installed, which is usefull for the inexperienced user who is after a system that works straight out the box.
and yes the "Essential" systems clearly show and advertise the options available with them to build your own system - for those who would rather use LYNX for example as do some of their other systems.

At last, even computer nerds can attract the girls!! :j

I think it a great feature to be able to customise a new PC and save on the cost of the OS. It should be a standard option for all new build PC's.

Surprise, surprise after my order cancellation Mesh have now discontinued the Headline Banner "All Mesh PC's are now pre-installed with Windows 7" and replaced it with a pretty Christmas message.
No need to worry any more about VERY misleading attention grabbing adverts.

Mesh emailed me with the cancellation details and requested that I call them to see if they could resolve the issue without cancelling the order.

The only issue I had was them making misleading advertising statements, now happily removed.

Would I trust them again... of course not.
