Any plumbers who can help re kitchen sink?

Hi All. I have just discovered a leak under my kitchen sink. The water is coming from where the waste pipe meets the drain hole in the actual sink unit. I can wobble the pipe so I guess some sort of seal has gone??? Is this a small job that I can tackle myself do you think? Could I use a sealant without removing any pipes?

Thank you

Try tightening up the large plastic nut under the drain hole so that you can't wobble the pipe.Hi, we’ve had to remove your signature. If you’re not sure why please read the forum rules or email the forum team if you’re still unsure - MSE ForumTeam0

Not a plumber but a diy plumbing novice...but first off as well as advice given already i'd check the waste trap is securely screwed in place..will usually come undone by twisting just by hand. However from your description it sounds more like water leaking between the metal waste outlet and sink bowl itself.
Have a look here ..which gives instruction on how to fit a waste to a basin..same applies for a sink but with a larger 1 1/2" size.
I'd highly recommend the named kit from Robimatic which you can buy in B&Q for a quid or two. No need for mucky sealants and easy for anyone to fit and no special tools required - except maybe waterpump pliers as described. This is what i used on my basin in the bathroom. I did actually have to refit mine as i hadn't tightened it quite enough but it took literally 5 minutes to do. Will take you longer if you need to clean up sealant from around the existing outlet.

ok, there isnt a screw visable to tighten as its one of the spring plugs that you press down to hold the water in the sink and lift out to release the water.
Yes Andy, the water leaking is coming from the join of the waste outlet and the sink. I will take a look at those kits and see if I am up to the job!"Thou shalt not forget that money is only money and not character or fame.”
