I'm looking for the latest results but can't find them anywhere. Does anyone know?
Or are results only released if they match the real result?0 -
Well Danyl did indeed get the most votes in week 4, and Lloyd and Rachel were 8th & 9th as we knew
However the others were way out.
Joe was actually 3rd not 7th, and as for Deadwood, well they didn't get anything like 30% of the vote, infact amassing just 6.6% and in 6th place.
MSE declared results ..... Actual % ..... Actual position
1. Danyl Johnson .............36.2................... 1
2. John & Edward ..............6.6................... 6
3. Olly Murs ....................13.4................... 2
4. Lucie Jones ...................6.4.................. 7
5. Jamie Archer .................8.7.................. 4
6. Stacey Solomon ............8.1.................. 5
7. Joe McElderry ..............10.2.................. 3
8. Lloyd Daniels ................5.5................... 8
9. Rachel Adedeji ..............4.9................... 9

Personally, I've always found it a little sad that people choose to spend such a large proportion of their lives in this way but they do, and we have to deal with it." - MSE Forum Manager 6th July 20100 -
just so we have an idea of the distribution of actual votes, if we take 30,000 as the supposed sample that the MSE results in week 4 were based on (and assuming a large degree of representiveness) Danyl would have clocked over 10,000 votes and Rachel would have had about 1,500."Who throws a shoe, honestly?"

Also interesting to note a couple of things.
Firstly that (I obviously wasn't paying really close attention or keeping count) the judges ONLY made a "eviction" decision TWICE in the 7 weeks they had the option to do so (public choice from week 8)
Those 2 decisions reflected the "public opinion" of deadlock just once.
In week 2 Simon got it "right" voting off Rikki Loney and keeping Rachel Adedeji.
In week 7 (last week judges got a choice) Dannii got it "wrong" when she sealed the fate of Jedward ...
(personally I don't know how they got to Louis Walsh's house let alone his final 3 - time he needs a straight jacket and padded cell I think)
... where a deadlock would have kept them in the competition .....
... EVICTING instead .....
YES, FINALIST OLLY !!!
Personally I think the voting system should be turned on its head and "inverted"
Instead of voting for the act you want to keep (2 lowest votes in a "sing off") you vote for the act you want to get rid of (2 highest votes in the "sing off")
Like Big Brother is for the first 10 weeks or so (vote to EVICT not keep)
Perhaps it could switch to a vote to keep (like BB) for the last 2 or 3 shows (perhaps at the point that the judges lose their "final decision")
I'm sure if this had happed Jedward would have gone 1st week.
As it was (in week 1) if they got 20,000 votes, to end up in the bottom two, over 200,000 votes had to be made for 10 other acts (and equally distributed).
In reality for the 10th act to have over 20,001 votes would probably have needed over 500,000 votes to have been cast (NOT for Jedward) to beat their "measly" 20,000 into 11th place

I reckon that system would generate less money for ITV and Cowell though - ultimately, revenue matters, not fairness or even democracy, when it comes to reality TV..."Who throws a shoe, honestly?"

Thanks for posting the comparision.
Yeah, exactly as I suspected.
I still think it was cringeworthy that MSE wanted to "exclusively reveal" this, and tried to get involved in entertainment, when it just really had no connection with their core business and in the end turned out to be false.
Let's hope they stay clear of it next year!0
