I had thought about that, but I can't carry this years leave over to next year, so I have to take it before my maternity leave instead......my boss even tried to tell me that I couldn't take it before my maternity leave either, as other staff already had their holidays allocated, and no leave was available. err....don't think so! I'm entitled to the leave and they have to allow me to take it somehow!!
gosh i cant help you there thriftlady mine was allowed anyway so i was lucky some places make life hard as if maternity isnt worrying enough without financial worries too, that boss sounds very tight i would check things out first i used the union a lot at work and remember some of the days leave you will accrue during mat leave itself so may not need to carry too many over, good luck i hope everything works out in the end.(ps: what about sick leave if desperate!)
