If you're not sure on your bills thats instantaneously worrying- I know the exact amount of my bills, and what date they're all taken by Direct Debit. My adc=vice is buy a diary (an A4 one) and on the front page of notes write all your direct debits, amount, date due, and every 2-3 days call telephone banking (if not online banking) and write your current Balance and OD balance, then your last 5-6 transactions under it (unless more if its been a busy few days). Its great because it serves another purpose, if you're on phone to CSA, Tax credit, council tax... anyone you have a copy of what you've paid and when (Saves fumbling around for bank statements- which need not be hanging around cos I have the info I need, so they're filed away in month order).

A lot has to do with organisation I think x
  • I'm not sure on the bills as they are still all going out of my ex fiances account. As they are set up in his name. Also we still share the house as we decided it was best for both of us as it meant more money to spend on paying off debts. I do know that all the household bills are completely up to date. It's just the debts that are not being paid.

Are the debts in joint names? Or do you both have debt in your own right?
