thinking of having prepayment removed

hi guys and girls quick question......

i bought my house in april, both meters were prepayment with scottish power, which was fine.
i'm now thinking of taking more control and going to a billed conventional meter system, i wonder though

1. the prepayment was not started in my name, i inhereted it from the previous owner, will i be in a minimum term
2. will sp charge to change if its with them
3. am i likely to save any money, my electric is roughly £35 pm and my gas is hard to tell, about £10 pm summer and about £45 pm at the moment i think as heating on 6hrs a day
things arent the way they were before, you wouldnt even recognise me anymore- not that you knew me back then ;)
BH is my best mate too, its ok :)

I trust BH even if he's from Manchester.. ;)

    In answer to your questions:

    1. Hopefully you advised the supplier when you moved in. Else you could have been paying off the previous occupant's debt!
You won't be in any minimum term.

    2. They may charge. Contact SP and ask them. Be careful to understand what is a charge (if any) and what is a security deposit (if any). Any charge is the cost of changing the meter. A security deposit, if requested, is refundable after 1 year with interest (assuming you pay your bills on time & in full)

    3. PPMs are usually more expensive than most credit meter tariffs. You can get a list of SP's tariffs from their website to see what you could save, although SP will be happy to discuss the options available to you indicating any likely savings.

if you inherited the meter and its not your debt and you are debt free to the shipper.TELL them you want it/them removed within 4 weeks or you will buy your fuel elsewhere..if you get no response.change shipper.easy.
