Virgin Media Bundles

Options
Hi, I was wondering how people here were doing with any Virgin Media Bundles offers they've had. I thought I was already on a reasonable deal with Virgin Media for XL Phone, XL TV, XL Broadband services totalling £58 per month (that includes 11.75 line rental already) so the only extras on top I pay are phone calls. I've just tried to haggle with them by saying I was looking to move to sky and bt and I've managed to get my services down from 58 to 50 per month which I think was well worth the free 25 mins phone call. What sort of prices are other people paying for these virgin services or can they be pushed down even further??? I'd love to hear other stories like this.

Thanks

Try the web, phones and tv section of MSE lots of threads there about who gets what for how much on there.

  • Im wondering should I get my phone with Virgin media in a bundle with broadband and TV. Or is it cheaper to get calls externally. And if I do this will I pay a 75 connection to Virgin and the extra to get my phnoe line activated?

I think bundles are good most of the time, but if you're potentially a new customer keep in mind they want your business (your money) so haggle haggle haggle, don't be afraid, quote other companies and see how they react, ask if they can do a better deal than they're offering, see how you go, good luck.

  • The introduction is always good, I've recommended people to virgin, all they have to do is give either your account number or phone number when ordering online.

I always do the same with 3 the mobile company, recommend a friend and you both get £30. Past two months I've gotten £90 back just for recommending 3 and virgin and each of my friends got their £30 each too :)

  • I recently changed to Sky from Virgin media in an attempt to save money.
When I phoned up to cancell the staff were quite rude and derogatory that I hadn't asked them for a better deal ! I didn't know this was possible as the only offers they have sent me involved spending more money longterm, ie a cheap upgrade for a few months and then bigger bills.

It was too late for me but they told me they could do phone broadband and TV for £28 a month.

The set up costs of changing to Sky mean it's actually going to take me over a year to recoup with the savings I am hoping to make on the bills so basically the whole thing has been a disaster. Although the Sky TV is nice and much easier for non teckky me to operate!
