Got accepted for a HSBC credit card last week and now realised i've somehow put myself as a 'Dr' instead of 'Mr'
(wishful thinking), should i be really worried about this as it could be classed as fraud? You'd have thought they may have questioned it when they saw my pitiful income

Tell them of course - why on earth wouldn't you if you're not actually a doctor?!0

Lol don't worry it's a simple mistake they can just amend the way your title appears on their system and no more is said about it.
I would imagine applying as a "Dr" rather than a "Mr" has a tiny, positive, effect on your credit score, but the little phone monkey who changes the title on your account when you call them won't know that!

If you do nothing, your new status would probably turn up as an alias on credit files.
Some online cc application forms don't give doctors the option of using the title, so I doubt if inconsistencies of this sort would be flagged up as possibly fraudulent. As long as your names are recorded correctly, that's the crucial thing.
As above, I'd give customer services a call.People who don't know their rights, don't actually have those rights.0 -
When I married I retained my maiden name, and now some of my CCs have the name MRS M Splodge and some MISS M Splodge. I always assumed it did not really matter as long as the name and initial are correct.0

On the basis that no title appears on anyone's electoral role information, I would say it's safe to assume that it bears no consequense atallCashback Earned ¦ Nectar Points £68 ¦ Natoinwide Select £62 ¦ Aqua Reward £100 ¦ Amex Platinum £48
