Hello.
We have a full current account with Natwest (Current Plus) with Maestro debit with in-built Cheque Guarantee £100).
We received letters a few ago from Natwest stating that new Visa debit cards would be delivered to replace the maestro ones.
They have arrived today, but it would appear with no cheque guarantee (the hologram is on the back, but with no amount stamped on it).
Is this normal..I.E The cheque guarantee function being removed? Also, are these still full function cards and not like Solo/Electron etc?
Thanks

What colour is your card is it blue or purple?
Well it could be one of two things an administration error OR Natwest have made the decision you no longer qualify for a GC Card. Banks are trying to phase out GC cards as they will be coming to end of the road in middle of 2011.Im an ex employee RBS GroupHowever Any Opinion Given On MSE Is Strictly My Own0 -
i've not yet had our new personal account cards through, but we recently opened a natwest business account and got the visa debit card and i noticed there was no cheque guarentee on the back, assumed it was because they are trying to faze out cheques, must remember to ask business relationship manager.0

I got my new card a few days ago. It's a purple card & on the back there are two holograms. On the left, one with a bird in it. On the right one with a cheque guarantee symbol & £100 at the bottom.
Maybe pop into your local branch & ask one of the staff? Thanks to all who post comps :A :T0 -

I didn't think that you have a cheque guarantee card with a business account. The only card I've ever had for my business account is a Mastercard. Never had a problem with people accepting a business cheque without oneThis is a system account and does not represent a real person. But mine is not a step account. It is current plus. The old card it replaces was a maestro cheque guarantee £100.

This is from the FAQ on Natwest Visa Debit
The colour of the card has no connection with the type of account you have. You'll still enjoy the same debit card benefits, no matter the colour of your card.0 -

Yeah I forgot about that lol
Erm basically i think its the banks way of phasing out CG cards.
If you had a CG before you should ask them to reissue your card with the facility.Im an ex employee RBS GroupHowever Any Opinion Given On MSE Is Strictly My Own0 -
They say that If you currently have a cheque guarantee card, your new Visa Debit card will also act as a cheque guarantee card.0
