Which Floor and Wall Tiles?

Morning all
I have just had a new fitted kitchen and the walls have been completely re-plastered.
I was hoping on a bit of help with types of tiles for the floor and wall (the bit between worktop and cupboards)??
I have beech cupboards, black granite worktops, I was thinking about a light biege style floor tile and two rows of black, then white for the walls. about 3m sq for each.
What do you guys think?? and from where do you suggest I source them?
many thanks for your help.

I have just done my floor tiles and got them from Topps Tiles. I had quite a good service but I think I got the manager (in Birmingham)! My brother went (walthamstow) and got overcharged and the batch numbers were different - so just be cautious!
I think their floor tiles start at fairly cheap prices (but go right up in price too!), but I think it is worth looking around for adhesive and grout and accessories (£8 adhesive spreader was £4.50 at Wickes) to see if you can get it cheaper.
Wherever you get them from make sure the batch numbers are all the same.
I spent at least a day working out where to put the first one.... was convinced I was going to have a wonky room.
Oh and make sure your subfloor is completely flat - mine wasn't and it got a bit dusty angle-grinding the concrete..... you live and learn!! ;DAdopt a retired racing greyhound. Go on... you know you wanna....0 -

I was thinking about a light biege style floor tile
Saw some in Focus on Friday.
A nice beige (oatmeal?) colour with just the hint of a "pattern" - we were thinking of getting some ourselves.
There were square ones 30cm x 30cm (12" x 12") in boxes of 10 for £4.45 - I seem to remember these were Focus' own brand , a sort of "budget" range I think.
There were also rectangular ones 30cm x 40cm (I think that's right - so 12" x 16") in a 5 pack for £5.65
These were part of a special buy in, may be in limited quantities and possibly not available in all stores.
Both looked very nice, were not seconds and seriously good value for money.
I'd recommend taking a look if Focus is not too far away. There are 10 types of people in the world. ‹(•¿•)›(11)A104.28S94.98O112.46N86.73D101.02(12)J130.63F126.76M134.38A200.98M156.30J95.56J102.85A175.93

Dropped into Focus again today to pick up a table.
Checked these tiles.
The Focus "budget" ones are are actually called Focus BASICS.
They are slightly bigger than I originally said.
Box says 31cm x 31cm , but if you measure them they are actually 31.8cm x 31.8cm (exactly 12.5" square)
There are TEN in a box for £4.49 (says 1sq metre / 1.2 sq yards)
The oblong ones are £5.99 for FIVE
Again the size is slightly different to what I originally thought.
Box says 29cm x 42cm (actually 30cm x 43cm when measured) this is just slightly under 12" x 17" (in old money)
Coverage stated per box = .61sq metres or 0.75 sq yards.
I'm defintely getting a large quantity of one or both of these later in the week once I've measured up.There are 10 types of people in the world. ‹(•¿•)›(11)A104.28S94.98O112.46N86.73D101.02(12)J130.63F126.76M134.38A200.98M156.30J95.56J102.85A175.93

Many thanks for your replies, all very helpful.

I had saw the very ones in Focus DIY but chose a slightly lighter shade with a nice uneven edge one in Homebase, these were £4.99 for a Sq metre. Even the tiler seemed impressed
The wall tiles are faux mosaic in a similiar biege/outmeal tone, again from Homebase, £14.99 a sq metre.

I saw these today.
Hmmmmm!
Not sure about the wibbly-wobbly edges.
Think I'd like to see a floor completed in these before I'd make a decision.
I laid out half a dozen but couldn't quite see it myself.
The fact that each edge has a different wibbly-wobbly shape and none are the mirror image of any other so 2 tiles don't fit nicely side by side (which is obviously the whole point & concept behind them) just didn't do it for me.
Suggs?
Perhaps you could post a photograph of the finished article on this thread ?

It was the uneven edges that attracted me, it gave it that sort of "rustic" feel

There was a giant photo on display at Homebase, maybe your store didnt have them.
They were fitted yesterday, but I dont see them till Friday when I get back from working down south.
Happpy to email a piccy if you like.
