just bought a Mongstad (wierd name i know) from Ikea, its 190cm x 90cm and 30Kg, bloody huge! Want to hang it on a solid internal wall in lounge, what the best fixings to use, to ensure it doesnt come crashing down in middle of the night?

You can give these people a call, I got some fixings from them a few years ago,(not for 30kg, that is a hell of a mirror:eek:), they where very helpfull and may point you in the right direction if they can't help.
You sure it's 30Kg? that is 66lb in old money!Don`t steal - the Government doesn`t like the competition0 -
You need proper mirror fixings. The John Lewis site may give some ideas, or a professional framer's. Basically, you need decent screws into the brickwork, some chain & hooks, and some well attached D-rings which hopefully are already on the back of the mirror.
Don't skimp- this is not the same as hanging a photo-frame!0 -
As far as the fixings are concerned, 6.0 * 70mm masonry screws, 6.5 or 7.0 mm drill bit and brown wall plugs and the mirror isn't going anywhere.0

How new is your property?
You may have problems with lightweight thermal block on an external wall. An internal load bearing wall should be solid block or on a stud wall screw into the studs.Hi, we’ve had to remove your signature.
