Yusuf / Cat Ticket Restrictions

I recently bought two Cat Stevens tickets for the Royal Albert Hall in December on my Visa.

I was going to give them to my daughter as a birthday present but I have recently been told that entry will only be granted if the cardholder is present.

I think she would probably like to go with her boyfriend and not her 'old dad'.

Has anybody heard of these type of restrictions before or have any other helpful advice about it.
TIA

I have heard of such restrictions being imposed to prevent ticket touting in the past - for example for Led Zeppelin at the O2 and Bob Dylan at the Roundhouse. But I can't see anything similar in place for Yusef. I suggest you contact thre Albert Hall Box Office to see if it is a problem.

At the worst, perhaps you could simply lend your daughter (or her boyfriend) your credit card for the evening ?
  • Thanks for your reply Poohsticks. Its a difficult one if you want to make a gift of tickets to someone. I have contacted the Box Office and I am awaiting a reply. I suppose your other suggestion is the next best option although I am a bit hesitant to do this for one or two reasons!
Did you attend the Concerts you mentioned and were the restrictions enforced on the night or were they merely scare tactics.
  • I used to work at the Albert Hall...I asked a contact of mine there about this and they know nothing about it and said it'll be the same as any other night. It seems to be just a silly rumour.
  • Thanks Flickering Ember, as I'm still waiting for a response from the RAH, it just shows how quick and useful this forum is.

Thanks again, my minds at rest, I can keep my card in my pocket!!!

I wish! I believe the Led Zeppelin one in particular was very strictly enforced - the cardholder had to turn up at the box office sometime on the day of the concert with the card they had used to purchase the tickets and their companion (you were only allowed two tickets per person) and both were then 'tagged' with non-removable wristbands which got you into the venue.

I seem to recall there were over a million applications for a few thousand seats (you registered and seats were allocated at random)
