Birmingham wedding venues

Hello all, I have just got engaged and am starting all the planning :-)
We are planning to get married in or around Birmingham in the Summer. I want us to have all the people special to us there but nothing too posh & fancy (i.e. expensive)
Please could I have suggestions for affordable venues. I would like somewhere with a bit of green outside for a nice background for the photos. If I could I would have the reception in the back garden but we only have a tiny terrace so that won't do, but you get the idea.
If you know of anywhere affordable and pretty I would be so grateful to hear from you.
Thanks :-)

Hello
Have you tried looking for places in sutton coldfield? or solihull if you're on that side of the city.
Theres a Ramada and a Holiday Inn if you search for them, and they have some really good offers.
We looked at the Botanical Gardens and its beautiful but it had a nice price tag aswellWhat matters most is how well you walk through the fire0 -

Hey there, thanks for your answer - I was considering the Botanical Gardens BUT it was about £4000 just for ROOM HIRE - so beautiful as it is, that's just not going to happen.
I will look at the ones you mentioned. I have seen the Holiday inn offers elsewhere £1000 for room hire, dj, light refreshments. Sounds great, but the one thing that bothered me was that there is a big sign at the entrance of the hotel saying *£1000 weddings Here!* . It sort of feels like wearing something with the price tag still on!
Thanks0 -
hope u dont think im being rude but what sort of price are u thinking?
just so i know where else to recommend.
Trust me, ive looked at and visited so many venues in the past month i know loads of them! hahaWhat matters most is how well you walk through the fire0 -

Hi, we're getting married at Himley Hall, its a stately home near Dudley set in a massive park which is beautiful. It may be a bit of a trek though and its expensive to have the whole day there but were just having the ceremoney there and then going on to a local pub with a function room, which works out much cheaper!

Somewhere beautiful and affordable with a bit of green... have you thought about getting married either at the Old Grammar School or the Merchants House on Kings Norton Green? Both of these buildings won the BBC TV Restoration programme and have been fully restored. There are various rooms both old and modern in the Merchants House and an upstairs room at the Old Grammar School which holds about 40 people.

Not sure of cost but you could try the Banqueting Suite at Birmingham Council House or Highbury Hall again this is run by Birmingham City Council.0 -
Thanks for all the replies :-)
I will look into all the venues.
For the reception part the budget should not be over £3000 including food, drink, venue & decorations.0 -
Have you tried the fairlawns hotel in sutton coldfield? its a nice hotel but im not sure about the cost. might work depending on how many guests you're having.
also try looking at rugby, football clubs etc.
also try rowheath pavillion, its in bournevile. again not sure on prices but i know they allow u to use your own caterers which might save u moneyWhat matters most is how well you walk through the fire0 -
Fairlawns is hugely expensive but very nice. I have PM'd you my reception venue OP...It should come in under budget (dependent on numbers)0
