Glass shower panel, shattered to pieces

  • i know the thread is 3 weeks old. But it annoys me when i read posts- the OP admits they leaned on it pushing it a way it shouldnt go- and even then you get posters suggesting trying to press the landlord to pay up!

Why can't people just be honest instead of always trying to push the blame.

As for the glass smashing into rounded pebbles- that's not the case. From what i understand safety glass breaks into loads of tiny pieces instead of shards of glass. Which can potentially cause worse injuries.
  • I have replied over on the pet thread...just wanted to check what other comments you have had here.
The more I think about it...the more I believe your landlord should be falling over himself to put this right, without any expense or further stress on your part. Does landlord realise you ended up in hospital?
If there is a management company involved in the flats you want to notify them as asap...if these shower screens ARE faulty the next accident could be a fatality.
If you don't start getting more favourable responses then there are lots of adverts on the telly 'Had an accident? Not your fault? ' I think you and the cat both seeking medical attention would get their interest pretty quickly!

abosultly ridiculous advice. Did you not read the OP leaning on it and pushing it. You push glass to much it will break. How can you even suggest the above?
  • She was getting out of the shower! (Appropriate use of facilities)
Not hosting a menage a trois whilst wielding a baseball bat.( Inappropriate use of facilities, but an interesting mental image)
I don't think the landlord should be pressed into anything...I think he should offer to replace at his own cost and be thankful his tenant is an honest person and did not threaten to sue him for all his wordly goods only to retire and live a life of luxury on the ill gotten gains.

    Sue on what grounds?
The OP pushed the door the wrong way. You'd have more chance in court with your builder, but will you sue him?:rotfl::rolleyes:

Yes she was and quoted from the OP " I was getting out of the shower and leant on it, pushing it outwards the way it wasn't supposed to go. "
. So she wasn't just getting out the shower the way you're supposed to. The OP honestly admitted she was leant on it the wrong way.

And if the OP has sued the landlord- according to you its warranted - so why is it ill gotten gains now?

    You're contradicting yourself.

You just sound like an ambulance chaser. Haven't you a pavement to trip over?

Try reading the OP's original post. They say they pushed it the wrong way and that is why it broke! It shateered as it was meant to do. Why do you suggest it is the landlord's responsibility for the carelessness of the tenant? You are obviously of the modern day creed that is always someone else at blame for everything and no one is responsible for their own actions. Your attitude to instantly think of litigation is the reason we all pay more for our insurance etc.
